CAGAYAN DE ORO PRIESTS CONCERT IN COURTICE
His name is Joseph and he was also bringing the Cebuano priests last year for a very successful concert in Courtice. "Hi Tita Li, I hope you still remember me..." I replied, "Of course Father, I remember you" he responded, "I'm not a priest."
Oh, I see...he was the music director from last year's concert. But this kind of event is almost impossible to prepare in one month! What about logistics; venue and audio? Especially the audio...a concert needs a very good DJ to supply the sounds. The venue...how can the venue be available in summer months in one month?
He explained the purpose of the CDO Singing Priests Concert Tour in the US and Canada- It is to build a residence for retired priests. Oh, how can I say no? When there's a will there's a way, right? But I wanna make sure that these priests can really do their stuff on stage. So I browsed....I wasn't sure if I had the right video online captioned: CDO DANCING PRIESTS.
Wow...last year's concert had some hip moves ala Ricky Martin but the video I was watching was a group of energetic priests dancing. So this year's priests' concert will have more for the supportive audience, I supposed....not just singing but dancing as well.
You can imagine that I am always told that I am Godsend. In less than a day, I got the venue at St. Therese Parish Hall with over 300 capacity, even closed to 400 if I'm not mistaken plus my favourite DJ who is always supportive of my fundraising projects: DEEJAY MIKE AUDIOSPIN ENTERTAINMENT. I love Mike, his professionalism is beyond par. The founder of Durham Crossover Basketball understands that this is a fundraising event. A concert demands specific audio requirements and Deejay Mike with his high end gears go beyond to help. Bless this guy, really.
So everything is set. What else do I need? All the support I can get from all of you so these priests can build a comfortable home for our Filipino priests at the twilight of their lives. At $20 dollars...it's not really that heavy in our pocket to help them.
So with the CDO Singing Priests, who else made the cut to perform as the Front Act? I need not look further, of course, the young and rising star from Stony Creek, Ontario- FIEN MENDOZA whose mom never hesitate to lend her talent in name of Charity. Fien Mendoza's performance is a bonus I tell you. This girl is something to watch....
