Up In Arms With A Perennial Advocate Paulina Corpuz Vying for Toronto Council Seat

The first thing that comes to mind when writing a blog is to evaluate my purpose of why I should spend time sitting down in my computer. There are times that I needed to be cautious not to spoil something unless it is intended that way. Another reason is how to make my piece float so it lands on someone's screen to be read and get results.

It has to be different and  truthful. False advertisement is always detrimental, in fact, it has its legal  implications under the laws of Canada. So how do I effectively write a piece to help and support someone without resorting to sensational titles and tags like, "BREAKING NEWS" or something dramatic? It has to come from my own views and perspective. It has to be personal. It must come from the heart and with purpose.

Paulina Corpuz' involvement as a passionate Advocate of many endearing issues is an open book to me but not her personal life. There is that little opening to know this mother of three and how at 15 y/o, Paulina started serving the community back home in the Philippines. At that very young age did she started a career of volunteering in her community. Volunteering is even more than a career without anything in return but fulfillment in the heart.

Imagine the length of time learning the craft of unpaid service to those who are vulnerable in our society? Experience is a hard stuff to earn and how old is Paulina Corpuz now? Wisdom is now the word for this woman and giving her a more broader platform to serve even more is now timely and adequate.

In a world where women are often marginalized and abused, Paulina Corpuz is a powerful image to reckon with. And this blog is just a preface of who Paulina Corpuz is in her community in Toronto. 

A true leader is someone with a very cool head. Someone who does not wreck havoc any opportunity for open negotiations in pushing an issue to the forefront and Paulina Corpuz has that attitude of being so calm, of being so focus and a patient thinker. Her qualities made me a fake leader.

I've met her several times, sat beside her on rare occasions, we exchanged messages discussing some issues at hand. That calmness and soft tone of voice defines a remarkable negotiator. Sometimes I wonder, how on earth can she achieved so many triumphant undertakings and got a deluge of support with such gentleness? My attitude is to curb and isolate problematic people, the ones who knew nothing but build fences and blocked everything so nothing is accomplish of which I have no time.

Paulina Corpuz is academically equipped to handle challenges. It is what this woman is from my personal views. Yes she is; calm and collected. Precious qualities of a formidable leader. A product of such prestigious academic institution as University of the Philippines, Paulina Corpuz wrapped herself with many accomplishments and has founded and advocated many organizations to help open opportunities in our community and build hammocks for our youth to fall back into.

I will not put it here on this opening salvo of this candidate's robust profile. I am still gathering woods to light a fire to her candidacy where strategy is as crucial as running itself. And I will own every story I will write about this perennial leader.
