A person who does not know how to dance can only sum up any body movement as dance or disco. My many attempts at the dance floor always put me on odd predicaments. My mind is so eager to make some moves but my feet and my body does not synchro completely. The result is sitting on the chair like I will faint if I stood up.
I've never been to a group dance which they labelled "Zumba" but I guess today at Pickering I have my taste of Zumba. I was to cover a Zumba Master named Felix Rodriguez at a school indoor arena. I was late as always, turning on the wrong direction. The GPS was friendly today bringing me to the right direction however getting into a parking lot with the yellow arrow towards me. I speed up before a car comes on the right direction.

The large room was full with Zumba fanatics wriggling on tantalizing music. I was registering as a media person and I can feel my toes pretty much wriggling underneath my shoes. I proceeded to the front by the side of the stage. Felix was already dripping with sweats as well as his patrons on the floor hundreds of them dancing to the rhythm of a Zumba music.
Everyone's enjoying the beat. But there was something a little far off from those old discos. There was a lot of flexing here and there and Felix Rodriguez was on the stage with his ladies behind him bending and stretching to the tune of Despacito. "So this is Zumba?" A combination of steps and muscle flexing, stretching and bending like a glorious exercise. Now I get it and everyone seems to be unmindful whether their body and feet in synch or not.
Zumba according to FELIX RODRIGUEZ INAY, is more on cardio exercise. I could see a lot of flexing and stretching but looks subtle because of the music. It was fun, healthy and addictive. Felix Rodriguez Inay simply fall in love with Zumba because he said it feels like a community. He likes ethnicity of his attendees which today at St. Mary Catholic School has over three hundred Zumba fanatics in attendance.
YOLI Canada was the major Sponsor of the event led by Therese Victorino Cruz.
